A man fell 30 feet into the Solomon water tower Tuesday.
It happened around 12 p.m. as the man was inspecting the water tower. KSAL reports that worker who had been inspecting the inside of the tower, was climbing out, when he slipped and fell back inside.
The Salina Fire Department called in their technical rescue team to help rescue the man. He was placed on a stretcher and then lowered down from the tower.
The man was transported to the hospital, but his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
Solomon Public Works Director Dan Britt tells KSAL that the tower had been drained for routine inspection and maintenance. The worker was just finishing, when the accident happened.
