A Yates Center teen was killed Sunday when the car he was riding in crashed and caught fire. The accident happened after 4:00 p.m. in Allen County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a car driven by Kody Ratcliff, 16, of Piqua, left the roadway, hit a tree and caught fire. A passenger, Austin Reser, 16, of Yates Center, died in the crash. Ratcliff was taken to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for treatment.
