Kansas City police said they have taken one person into custody after a standoff outside a home on the city's south side, KMBC reports.

Officers said someone called an adult entertainment service around midnight and asked to have a woman sent to a home in the 2000 block of East 70th Terrace. Police said another woman who had been sent to the home earlier in the evening had been robbed by several people once she arrived.

The business notified police, thinking the second woman was also being set up to be robbed. Police said several suspects ran into a house when they saw the officers.

Investigators surrounded the home for much of the night, trying to get the people inside to come out.

Police found a man hiding inside the home around 9 a.m. and took him into custody. The incident remains under investigation.
