Man Remains In Critical Condition After Turnpike Accident

An El Dorado man remains hospitalized following an accident on the Kansas Turnpike Thursday night.

The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the northbound lanes of the turnpike near Kellogg in east Wichita.

According to the Kansas Turnpike Authority, the driver of a northbound pickup suffered a medical condition, lost control and hit another car. Both Vehicles slid off the roadway into the ditch, damaging a sign, guardrail and fence.

The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Gary Mills of El Dorado, was transported to a Wichita hospital where he remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The driver of the other car was not injured.

Troopers are investigating what caused an accident that injured two people Thursday evening. It happened in the northbound lanes of the turnpike, just east of Kellogg in Wichita.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says two vehicles collided in the right lane and both left the roadway. A man in his twenties suffered only minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

A man in his sixties was transported by EMS to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition. Troopers say the man may be suffering from a medical condition.
