One person was killed and three others were hurt in an accident in rural Saline County. It happened at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Coronado Heights Road and Muir Road about five miles northwest of Lindsborg.

Saline County Sheriff officials say a car and pickup truck met at the intersection and collided. It is an uncontrolled intersection without stop lights or signs.

Investigators say the man driving the car died at the scene. The man driving the pickup was taken by helicopter to a Wichita hospital in critical condition. A woman in the pickup was taken by ambulance to a Salina hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A boy in the pickup who was buckled into a child safety seat at the time of the crash sustained only minor injuries.

The names of the victims have not been released. Officials say all were local residents.

The accident is under investigation.
