Del City, Okla. -- A police lieutenant with the Del City, Oklahoma Police Department has been found guilty of manslaughter.
A jury convicted Randy Henderson Tuesday in the 2012 shooting death of 18-year-old Dane Scott Jr. Henderson had testified that he had to wrestle a handgun away from Scott after a chase.
Scott was shot at four times in the back as he ran away from the officer, but was killed by a single bullet. KOCO-TV reports that the department filed an affidavit after the shooting that showed Scott was not armed and no longer posed a threat of death or serious injury to Lt. Henderson.
Henderson, a 23-year veteran of the Del City Police Department, faces a minimum 4 years in prison when he is sentenced.
