The Kansas Highway Patrol has shut down southbound I-135 in Harvey County after multiple accidents were reported near exit 34 in Newton.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says multiple accidents along the interstate forced the closure of the roadway until the vehicles involved can be cleared. Harvey County dispatch tells KAKE News four people were hurt and were transported to the hospital with just minor injuries.
Two Harvey County Sheriff's deputies had their vehicles struck while trying to work the accidents, but they were not hurt. KAKE's Parrish Alleman is on her way to Newton and we will have more in our 4 p.m. newscast.
