Thousands of people flocked to Valley Center since late last week to visit a half-size replica of the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, which was on display until 2 p.m. Monday.

Valley Center estimates 10,000 people visited the "Moving Wall," that went on display last Thursday. That number includes approximately 2,000 school children and another 1,000 that turned out for the opening ceremony.

There are more than 58,000 names on the wall, which has been traveling the country for more than 20 years.

Mayor Mike McNown said the wall's visit was very positive for the community and was the least Valley Center could do to show their appreciation for the nation's veterans.
