One man has died following an accidental shooting Friday night in Park City.

It happened around 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of East Gary Drive.

Police Chief Phil Bostian says Eloy Portillo-Meza, 36, of Denver, was visiting a friend in Park City. His friend was showing him a .22 Magnum revolver when it went off.

One bullet hit Portillo-Meza in the stomach. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead around 12:15 Saturday morning.

The man who accidentally fired the gun was questioned and released, Bostian said. It is not yet known if charges will be filed.

A man in his thirties is being rushed to a Wichita hospital following an accidental shooting Friday evening in Park City.

It happened around 9 p.m. in the 1600 block of East Gary Drive. A 911 dispatch supervisor says a man called and told them he accidentally shot his friend with a .22.

The victim was taken to Wesley Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He is currently listed in critical condition.

The man who allegedly shot the gun is being questioned by investigators.

No further details have been released.
