A Kansas man has died following a accident in Ford County. Kansas Highway Patrol officials say it happened just after 8:30 a.m. Monday on U.S. Highway 50 about 18 miles east of Dodge City.
Investigators say the driver of a car heading northbound on 127 Road stopped at a stop sign at U.S. Highway 50 but failed to see a pickup heading westbound on the highway. She pulled out onto the highway and collided with the truck. The truck rolled twice and came to rest in a ditch.
The driver of the truck was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. He has been identified as 44-year-old Dale Wetzel, of Offerle. The 39-year-old driver of the car was not hurt.
The accident is under investigation.
