Jury selection is underway for a former law enforcement officer accused of killing his wife.
Brett Seacat is accused of murdering his wife, Vashti, at their Kingman home two years ago last month. The home was also set on fire. He was charged with first degree murder, aggravated arson and child endangerment.
Jury selection began today, and it's expected that nearly 15 percent of the entire population of Kingman will be called to the courthouse to be considered to hear the case.
At a motions hearing last week, the defense team for the former Sedgwick County sheriff's deputy also revealed for the first time that he will testify in his own defense.
KAKE News will be in the courtroom when the trial begins later this week.
