Should trick or treat be observed on Saturday or Sunday? That's a good question.

Since Halloween is on a Sunday this year, we are getting several emails asking if there are any communities in the area celebrating the ghoulish holiday on Saturday. That's a good question.

First of all, when I was kid, we celebrated Halloween on October 31st no matter what day of the week. But, there are some communities that don't want any part of trick or treating on a Sunday. That's understandable.

For some, scary costumes and asking for candy is not a typical, "Sunday Activity." Halloween is this Sunday. We have received several emails asking if Wichita was going to move the traditional trick or treating to Saturday. The answer is, "No." Halloween and all of it's trick or treat fun is not moving.

So expect trick or treaters at your door Sunday evening. That seems to be the norm across all of Sedgwick County. In fact, if there is a Kansas town moving it's trick or treating from Sunday to Saturday, I couldn't find it.

If you don't want trick or treaters on Sunday, the city of Wichita recommends that you turn off your porch light for a while. Or, you could do what my parents did when I was a kid. Hand out stuff like apples or assorted nuts. Word will spread, and kids will avoid your house.

If you have a good question, send it to me at news@kake.com. I'll do my best to answer your good question every Thursday on KAKE News at 6.
