Hutchinson Police are on the look out for a Peeping Tom, and residents are hoping that by getting the word out that they can prevent anyone from getting hurt.

Recently, residents reported seeing a Peeping Tom in the area of the 1300 block of East 11th Street, then again a few blocks away on Pleasant Street.

One evening, Jim Suppes noticed a prowler creeping around his stepdaughter's house across the street.

"Somebody started walking along the fence line," Suppes said. "He started walking towards her bedroom window, squatting down and looking in the window."

That night, something had startled the Peeping Tom away, and when police arrived they found nothing.

About two hours later, Suppes said the man returned from the other direction and began looking in the same window.

"I got 20 feet away, then said 'Freeze! Stop!," Suppes continued.

Once again the man ran, and police were unable to locate him.

Three nights later and a few blocks away, a man with a similar description rattled Melissa Wagner's back door. Her husband went to investigate and saw a man jump on a bike and take off.

Hutchinson Police are investigating the cases.

"Over the last two or three weeks, there have been two or three cases of Peeping Toms but nothing to link them to those Saturday nights," said Hutchinson Police Captain Troy Hoover.

One post on a Reno County Facebook page has sparked an outpouring of comments, with other Hutch residents saying they've seen this man prowling around their neighborhoods as well.

Witnesses have described him as a white male in his 30s who's tall, thin and very fast. He has been seen jumping fences as he ran from police.

Authorities say if you see anything suspicious, no matter how small it might seem, to call them right away.
