Three people were arrested for burglary after they were found drinking beer in an Arkansas City Pizza Hut. Two of those arrested are employees.

Just after midnight Monday morning, a passerby saw people entering the closed restaurant in the 400 block of North Summit Street and called police.

When officers arrived, they saw a teenaged boy in the kitchen area through the drive-thru window. The teen then saw officers and tried to hide. As officers tried to open the doors, he ran from the building but was soon captured in front of a nearby Dillons store.

Police and sheriff's deputies searched the restaurant and found two others hiding inside: a teenaged girl and a man. Police say evidence that the three were consuming the restaurant's beer was apparent.

Officers learned that the two males were employees of the restaurant. The two teens were arrested for burglary, theft and minor in consumption of alcohol. The man was arrested for burglary, theft and hosting an alcohol party.

Formal charges are pending.
