WICHITA, Kan. -- Three homes and a car were damaged after they were hit by ammunition from a shotgun.

It happened near 13th and Terrance in Northeast Wichita around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.

Wichita police say that six shots were fired. One home received two gunshots, inside were two young girls. The girls were playing in a room facing the street, when the shots were fired, one round of ammunition came through the house within inches of where they were playing.

Family of the girls was thankful that no one was hurt. "Bullets don't have a name, they hit whoever they want, I am very thankful that everyone is okay," said Dustin Horner, father and uncle of the girls.

Police do not have a suspect, but a small gray vehicle with a white top was seen fleeing the area after the gun was fired.
