WestJet To Buy 65 737s From Boeing

The Boeing Co. on Thursday announced that Calgary-based WestJet has signed a letter of intent for the purchase of 65 737 Max aircraft.

The order — which consists of 40 737 Max 8s and 25 737 Max 9s — is valued at $6.3 billion at list prices, according to a news release from Boeing.

Spirit AeroSystems Inc. in Wichita builds about 70 percent of the 737 for Boeing.
