Officials with Spirit AeroSystems have confirmed the worker who fell while working Monday afternoon has died. They released this statement Tuesday night:
"We are deeply saddened that one of our team members, who has been a colleague for more than five years, has passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family. The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority. We do not yet know all of the circumstances surrounding the situation and are conducting a thorough investigation. At this sad time, we are keeping our teammate’s family in our thoughts and prayers."
The man's name has not been released pending family notifications.

A Spirit Aerosystems employee remains hospitalized one day after an accident at the Wichita plane manufacturing company.
It happened in Plant II, 3801 S. Oliver St., around 5 p.m. Monday.
Officials say the 30-year-old man fell several feet while on the job. He was taken to Wesley Medical Center not breathing.
Ken Evans, Senior Manager for Spirit, released a statement saying:
“We are deeply saddened by the injury to one of our team members. The safety and well-being of our employees is our top priority. We do not yet know all of the circumstances surrounding this injury. At this point, we do know the incident occurred about 5 p.m. Monday in Plant II. We are conducting a thorough investigation of the incident and are cooperating fully with outside authorities. We have offered assistance to the family and are keeping our teammate in our thoughts and prayers.”
Hospital officials tell KAKE News the patient remains in critical condition.
