Security at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport is getting a facelift.
Security screening checkpoints will be modified to adjust to an increase in early morning passengers.
The Transportation Security Administration said new equipment for the checkpoints arrived earlier this week. The changes are expected to be complete in phases. Four checkpoints will be installed in each gate corridor, instead of a center checkpoint.
Keith Osborn, Kansas’ Federal Security Director, said passengers will see increased congestion while the changes are being made.
“If you're an arriving passenger you will notice it will be an obstacle maze to get through to the exit until all the check lanes are in operation,” Osborn said.
The changes are expected to be begin Friday night, and will be complete by the end of the month.
