A semi truck was buried in corn following an accident at a grain elevator in Stafford County Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened at the Dillwyn Elevator in St. John around 1 p.m. Thursday.
The manager of the elevator told the St. John News that a semi and its trailer struck the loading chute on the southwest side of the elevator, causing the corn to pour out.
The driver of the semi was able to get out and to safety before his truck was engulfed in corn. That truck was from a hauling company based in Oklahoma.
No one was hurt, but the elevator will be closed for the rest of the week for clean up and repairs. St. John News reports it is expected to reopen on Monday.
