The summer scorcher didn’t scare pumpkins this year, despite predictions this year crop was going to be squash.
Derek Zongker, Harvest Farm and Pumpkin Patch owner, said pumpkins in his Turon farm faired better than other crops.
“We do have pumpkins,” Zongker said. “It wasn’t a complete crop failure. We have some really nice pumpkins.”
Pumpkins aren’t the only attractions at the patch. A pumpkin canon, hayrack rides, and laser tag will keep the family entertained for hours.
“It’s a festival atmosphere,” Zonker said. “There’s a lot of things for kids to do.”
“This is our third year coming out here,” said Jamey Blubaugh. “We just enjoy the family time we get to spend.”
