It's the fruit for real squares. A company in Panama is starting to ship square watermelons to the U.S.
Operations manager Gerardo Diaz, of the Panama Fruit Producer company, says people want to know if the square melons are the result of a genetic experiment.
He says the explanation is a lot simpler. The melons are grown inside cube-shaped glass boxes.
But being the first to serve the square melons will take a fat wallet. The melons cost about 75 bucks each.
