A Wichita man working at the coop elevator in Minneola was killed Wednesday when he fell off the scaffolding at the side of a silo that was being built.

Sheriff Eric Bates says the unidentified man was working alone at the top of the silo when the accident happened. Bates says the man fell approximately 120 feet.

Family members who contacted KAKE News identify the victim as 38 year-old Phillip Love of Udall. He was reportedly in Minneola doing contract work for the elevator.

Bates also says it does appear the man was wearing safety equipment. He's not sure if it was being used correctly or if the harness somehow failed.
