Fifth-ranked Boise State, one of seven remaining undefeated major college football teams, had a few tense moments but posted a 45-35 victory over upset-minded Louisiana Tech. The Broncos improved to 9-and-0 overall, and 4-and-0 in Western Athletic Conference play.
Kellen Moore threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns. Tech had
pulled within 30-28 early in the fourth quarter. But the Broncos defense buckled down long enough after that for Boise State to pull away with touchdowns on consecutive drives. Jeremy Avery's 44-yard
touchdown run clinched it. Avery finished with 146 yards rushing. Titus Young caught eight passes for 110 yards and a TD.
Boise State, Florida, Texas, Alabama, Cincinnati, TCU and Iowa are all undefeated.
