Kansans who purchased flat panel televisions or computer monitors may be eligible for reimbursement from a class-action settlement.

Kansas consumers who purchased liquid-crystal display (LCD) panels incorporated in televisions, monitors and/or laptop computers between January 1, 1999, and December 31, 2006, are among those who may be eligible.

Although the State of Kansas was not a party to the litigation, the Attorney General's office closely monitored the case to ensure that Kansas consumers would be eligible to apply for reimbursement as part of any settlement. The case was brought in 2011 by eight other states as well as private class counsel. The settlement resolves allegations of an illegal conspiracy to fix the price of LCD flat panels, resulting in overcharges to consumers who bought these products.
