The Coleman Co. is moving most of its U.S. customer service operations to a third-party provider outside of Wichita in a move that’s expected to be finished in the first quarter of this year.
Company spokesperson Alex Stern declined to name the third-party provider but said it is one already utilized by Coleman’s parent company, Jarden Corp.
Stern also declined to say how many Wichita employees would be affected by the move but did offer that once it is complete, Wichita will remain home to 68 percent of the company’s U.S. work force.
“We plan to maintain our strong presence both in the state and specifically in Wichita,” Stern said.
The company announced in 2011 that it was moving some of its executives from Wichita to the Denver area.
