Wichita Sports Hall of Fame Inductions
The newest members of the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame were introduced today at an induction ceremony at the Hillside Christian Church on the east side of Wichita.
Ten individual athletes received the call to the Hall, including former South High and Nebraska lineman Lawrence Pete, who is also the uncle of local football stars Bryce and Arthur Brown. Arthur was in attendance Saturday and received applause for earning his Kansas State degree.
Among the other honorees, race car driver Pinky Mullens made an appearance to thank his supporters, and Bishop Carroll and Shocker golfer Rod Nuckolls noted in his rookie year on the PGA tour, he was one of 3 new faces to professional golf. The others were Mark O'Meara and Fred Couples.
