Former Baseball Player Called In Clemens Case

The judge in the Roger Clemens perjury case is allowing the government to call former major leaguer David Segui and another man as witnesses.

Prosecutors want to question Segui about a conversation from around 2001 in which Clemens' strength coach, Brian McNamee, is said to have told Segui he had saved needles used to inject players with steroids or human growth hormone.

In the same ruling Thursday, U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton also allowed the government to call Anthony Corso, who was one of McNamee's private workout clients in New York City. Corso is expected to testify McNamee told him that Clemens used HGH, and that McNamee saved evidence from a 2001 injection.

Clemens is accused of lying to Congress in 2008 when he denied using steroids or HGH.
