Send Man Killed In Valley Center Accident Identified

A Wichita man has died in a rollover accident in Valley Center. It happened near East Allen Street and Meridian Street at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

Valley Center Police Sgt. Matt Vogt says two men in a Ford Explorer were northbound on Meridian when the driver lost control and struck a power pole, causing the sport utility vehicle to roll onto its driver’s side.

Officials say Juan Massu-Lerma, 39, of Wichita, died at the scene. A 42-year-old passenger, who is also from Wichita, was not hurt.

Vogt says there are indications that alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
