There is new leadership at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Wichita. On Sunday, Pastor Kent Rogers officially took the helm as full pastor at the church.
Sunday's service saw a full house as Rogers marked his debut as the church pastor. He actually began his ministry at the church in 1982 but later moved to Holton, Kansas to serve at a church there.
The church has a long history of community involvement. Rogers says in addition to its local work, the congregation will continue to focus on mission work. He says this weekend they sent several members on mission trips.
The First United Methodist Church service airs every Sunday at 11 a.m. on KAKE TV and right here at kake.com.
