Kansas Farm Brothers Make Popular Music Video

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

Three brothers from Saline County are becoming superstars, thanks to their farming music video.

Greg, Nathan and Kendal Peterson star in their own music video, set on their farm near Assaria.

"It's less about us and more about ag and what farmers do," said Nathan Peterson. "Because none of us would be here without food to eat."

The music video was Greg's idea. He says it hit him one day while listening to LMFAO's song 'I'm Sexy and I Know It.'

"I was like, I'm farming and I grow it," Greg said.

The video soon became a family affair. Laura, their sister, did most of the camera work, and mom and dad have their own starring roles. All worked around harvest to get the video done Monday night.

"We had one really big day, because we don't work on Sundays," Greg said. "So we had to work around Dad's schedule. Dad wants to work on the farm."

Within a few hours after posting it, "I'm Farming and I Know It" went viral with more than 250,000 hits so far and the numbers are growing.

"It's insane how fast it went up," said the youngest brother Kendal.

"It's really crazy to see how everybody is watching my brothers," Laura said. "That many views and have it go viral."

The boys' new found fame hasn't stopped them from doing what they do, feeding the world, promising to always stay humble.

"We might make another video," said Greg Peterson. "You never know."
