Send Newton Man Dies After Harvey County Crash

A Newton man has died after an accident in Harvey County.

It happened near east 1st St. and Oliver, east of Newton, around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The Harvey County Sheriff's Department said Ralph Lowry, 82, crossed the center line and hit the side of a tractor trailer.

Lowry was flown to a Wichita hospital for treatment. He later died of his injuries.

The semi truck driver, Nathan Unruh, of Galva, was not hurt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
