A 31-year-old Hutchinson man is dead after a one-car crash in that city late Thursday night.

Hutchinson police tell KAKE News an SUV slammed into a tree in the front yard of a home near 4th and Carey about 11 p.m. and burst into flames. By the time police arrived, witnesses had pulled the driver from the car and had begun CPR.

The driver, identified as George Weber of Hutchinson, was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police believe alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash.
