You try using your brain! 150 people trampling over a planted field is going to do damage. You must be a city slicker.

Anon, read the story, the police estimate 100 to 150 teen were there, have them running around throwing water baloon and drinking. what do you suppose that did to the corn? it smashed and broke the plants. How about you go out there and buy new plants and plants them for all that were damaged.k Lets soo 100 people run through yuor flowerbeds and damage them, or do yu not have anything that can be damaged so yu really don't have a clue

Only in Kansas does a damaged cornfield make the news.
Posted by: Anonymous on May 15, 2012 at 08:41 PM

I seriously doubt there was anywhere near that much damage.

I agree that trespassing is wrong. It's not right that they were having a drinking party on someone else's property. And I could see the corn field damaged from that. But I have a hard time believing that it was from water balloons.

Try using your brain. A water balloon fight! You going to report any water balloon fight that you see or try to stop it in case damage is done? Those bad water balloons are so dangerous!!

Come on over and have a water balloon fight on my property, I highly doubt it's going to do damage. If it is, then it better not rain!!

I do own property and I am pretty sure a water balloon fight isn't going to destroy my property, maybe there was more that did the damage than little water balloons!

I am proud to call Kansas home and I am happy this is todays new story. I would rather have this than the daily, rape, murder, kidnapping, molestation, etc. that most of the larger populated cities have. Move to LA or NYC if you want excitement, this is Kansas; my home on the range, where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day!

Wow people. So... If these kids came to your place of employment while u were gone & trashed your cubicle, truck, daycare, school, etc... U would still say it was bs? Farmers aren't rich idiots. They r, for the majority, some of the last honest hardworking true Americans there are. Keep taking them for advantage & show your true ignorance. As for the ones who did this. U should replant the field & make sure the crop survives- at ur own cost (& your precious time).

I'ev always wanted to go to the city and cut kiddies in the yards after a rain like these not so young idiots do up and down the roads and the edges of fields with their Natural Lite beer cans. Drive down Main street and see those 4x4's with big tires and covered in mud and see the green wheat hanging form under them, answer, pulled a friend out!

wow anon, i think a skeleton has more brains than you

Most definitely the ones caught should have to pay restitution and replant the damaged field. Lesson in respecting other people's property whether it was intentional damage or not.

If it doesn't rain shortly, forget about the corn crop anyhow...maybe all 150pp should all chip in $40 and life goes on.
