Second Clemens Juror Dismissed

Reporter: Associated Press

Tuesday, May 15, 2012

Another juror has been dismissed from the Roger Clemens perjury trial for sleeping through part of the proceedings.

She's the second juror dismissed from the perjury trial in Washington of the former baseball pitcher, who's accused of lying to Congress when he denied using performance-enhancing drugs.

The juror, a woman who works as a supermarket cashier, had said during jury selection that she had never heard of Clemens -- and that "if he did indulge," he should be penalized.

Her departure leaves 14 jurors, including two alternates.

Jurors have been hearing from a former strength and conditioning coach who has said he injected Clemens with steroids.
