Send WFD Looking For Taco Shop Arson Suspect

Wichita fire investigators are asking for help in solving an unsolved arson.

Authorities said someone broke into the Taco Shop, Central and West, around midnight Feb. 26, 2009. The suspect then set the business on fire, causing about $300,000 in damage.

Capt. Stuart Bevis, Wichita Fire, said he believes someone may be willing to share information three years after the incident.

“At that point they weren’t comfortable sharing with us,” Bevis said. “They didn’t share enough information and there’s probably people who have additional information to help us with this case.”

Bevis said investigators have not identified a motive in the case. He said he is giving this case new attention as part of arson awareness week.
