A Kingman man has died after an accident in Reno County.

It happened west of Arlington about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday.

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office said Lloyd Patterson, 71, was driving north on K-14, when he failed to stop at a stop sign at K-61. His vehicle crossed the roadway, struck a sign, hit the ditch and landed upside down on the railroad tracks.

Crews used the jaws of life to remove the victim from his car. He was taken to a Hutchinson hospital where he later died.

Authorities are looking into whether a medical condition played a role in the accident.
