The husband of a southeast Missouri woman who has been missing for nearly a year has been charged with first-degree murder.
The charge was filed Monday against 41-year-old Clay Waller even though the body of his estranged wife, Jacque Waller, never has been found. He also is charged with tampering with evidence.
The mother of triplets who are now 5 years old disappeared on June 1. Her father, Stan Rawson, says there is some relief in knowing charges have been filed.
Cape Girardeau County prosecutor Morley Swingle says he won't seek the death penalty against Clay Waller, who's already in federal prison for threatening his sister-in-law in an online posting. He did not have a listed attorney.
