Interesting thoughts. I am a retired LEO and now sell this type of solution to LE agencies and just wanted to comment. We calculated the person hours saved by not having to re-key citation data, money saved by not having to purchase printed tickets and calculated the time that was saved by equipping the officers with e-citation solutions. It should be noted that the savings to the taxpayers is significant and will far exceed the cost of the solution. These systems pay for themselves within the first year or even sooner. Just wanted to provide you all with some facts, and no, my company is not the one providing Wichita Police with this solution. Thank you

WRONG AGAIN! Don't get tickets, but am tired of paying for obese cops to do half a job for full pay! You should also be worried that a 400 lb cop should have to chase a suspect. Who Wins?

Train the police to code correctly and write legible otherwise they will have to pay the fine themselves. Why throw so much money at something that they should be doing anyway?

I know many LEO who... A.Could run most down on foot & chew em up & spit em out. B. Put a shot between the eyes at hundreds of yard out. Pretty bad dudes but I'm sure the arm chair cowards who post these things would not have the guts to confront any of these fine men & women face to face.

What's the delay? Didn't cost enough? Anything else that cost several million taxpayer dollars would have been a done deal after one vote.

AMEN to that!! LOL

At their Tuesday meeting, council members determined they needed more information about how much the program would cost. The vote has been rescheduled for May 1. Really? One Half of a Million Dollars? Really? All people have to do is use a magnet on their license and the 2.8 Million Dollar Machines will be ineffective. Why not invest in computer systems that work - or at least hire competent staff that can keep the system up. It is down way too much. The time to issue a citation and check for wants/warrants is delayed from legacy computer systems. We need Council Members that know what the hell they are doing before they start spending our money!

Spoken like a over weight cop!! When you hand out that ticket are you going to tell them about your comment before you laugh, and rejoice in the satisfaction of giving them a ticket. Your right they won't follow you home.

I don't think they can catch a real criminal on foot unless half the force goes on the biggest loser.

It's really not about getting a ticket. I have only gotten on speeding ticket in about 15 years. They caught me it was a setup I mean a speed trap. But I totally agree with the fact that most all police are over weight. Now how the heck are they planning to catch a criminal they can't so we have to put them in cars to be jerks to the speeders. I don't see any fat fire fighters running around here. Oh yeah they must take physical tests where they have to be able to run, jump, climb, and drag life size models of people around. Maybe the police department should look into that as well. Since we pay for everything else they have they should look the way we want them to look, and at least be able to catch/gain on someone on foot. LOL

Ok jimmy let me explain this to you. If the speed limit is 30 then you do 30. Anything over that is speeding. You know, speeding is when you go more than the posted speed limit. Do you get it now?
