Sedgwick County emergency officials say a non-emergency line put in place over the Fourth of July holiday ran smoothly.
Randy Bargdill, Sedgwick County 911 communications, said operators fielded 377 fireworks complaint calls to 290-1011 from 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. Thursday. Residents were asked to call the non-emergency number instead of 911 to keep the line open for emergencies only.
The number is no longer in service.
Officials plan to use the non-emergency number again during New Year's Eve celebrations.
