Man Burned In Southeast Wichita House Fire

One person was burned in a house fire in southeast Wichita. The fire started just after 2:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Brentwood Street.

Officials say the fire started in the home's attic. A 36-year-old man who was working in the attic suffered burns to his leg and smoke inhalation. He was taken to a nearby hospital with potentially serious injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say the fire caused about $70,000 in damage to the structure.
