Rubbermaid announced a major expansion project Thursday with plans to hire hundreds in Winfield.
The Rubbermaid facility in Winfield employees 700 workers. The company plans to add at least 250 more with the expansion of a 500,000 square foot distribution center.
Rubbermaid has made coolers and ice chests as well as outdoor storage and living produces for years. Now, it will be make trash bins and Rubbermaid totes.
"The company is definitely investing in our people here," said Rubbermaid employee Wayne Ramsey.
The new building will be finished in the fall of this year.
