Ubisoft Assembling Avengers For Game

Reporter: Associated Press

Thursday, May 10, 2012

Now that they've saved the world on film, "The Avengers" are teaming up for a video game.

Ubisoft announced a partnership Thursday with Marvel to create a motion-control game based on the superhero alliance for Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console and Microsoft's Kinect system for the Xbox 360.

"Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth" will focus on such characters as Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk and Thor battling an invasion of the Skrull alien race.

The motion-control action game will feature more than 20 characters from the Marvel universe and would be based on the long-running comic series, not the recent film. No release date was announced.

Previously released motion-control games developed by Ubisoft include the street brawler "Fighters Uncaged," superhero dueler "PowerUp Heroes," the "Your Shape" fitness franchise and "Just Dance" rhythm series.
