Wichita's WaterWalk is experiencing a change in leadership. Jack DeBoer and his Consolidated Holdings will now take the reigns.
Doug Rupe, Vice President of Real Estate Development, says he and DeBoer have been involved with the project from the beginning. This simply means DeBoer will have more say in the day to day actions of the project.
Rupe says former partner David Burk will remain in an advisory role for the time being. He could not comment on former manager Tom Johnson's future.
Rupe says the focus of the project will not change. He says if anything, DeBoer is an idea man, and this will give the project more momentum in the coming weeks and months.
Mayor Carl Brewer says he plans to meet with DeBoer later in the week about the vision DeBoer has for this downtown project.
Calls to Burk and Johnson have not been returned.
