Newly inaugurated McPherson College president Michael Schneider has a bold vision for the private college in Kansas.
Schneider says his vision for the college is to be the best private college in the state. He admits it's bold, but asks "Why not?"
Schneider has served the college in several roles over the past seven years beginning in 2002 as director of career services. Schneider later became vice president of advancement and in 2007 added the vice president of admissions responsibilities.
Through his leadership, the college experienced a 30 year high in gifts and enrollment figures. Over $1M in annual gifts was given to the college this past fiscal year and this year enrollment reached a record high of 542 full-time students.
Schneider graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree from McPherson College in 1996 and received an MBA from the University of Denver in 2001. He is at 35, one of the youngest college presidents in the nation.
Schneider is the 14th president of McPherson College and will be inaugurated Saturday at 2pm at Brown Auditorium in McPherson.
