Hundreds of kids in Kansas are starting the new year off without a family.

In this edition of Susan’s Kids, we want 2011 to be the year five of those children find a forever home.

We introduce you to five incredible siblings. Age 16 to 9. On the day we shot this, they were incredibly happy because for the first time in months, they were all together.

This group of five siblings is almost indescribable. They argue like most siblings, and like most, the are competitive. But after what they have been through, the amount of perseverance and solidarity they show, is amazing.

Susan, “what do you want for them?”

Christopher “I want them to be successful in life...not having the problems they already have.”

Christopher and his four sisters have been in several different foster homes in just three years, and like now, they are split.

Susan, “Why do you want to be adopted together tiffany?”

Tiffany, “Because I will be with my family that I never hanged out with for a whole.”

Elicia, “I want to be adopted together because I cant stand being away from them any longer (you cant) cause he’s my brother (you miss him don’t you?) Don’t make me laugh. And the best thing about it is when I am sad or something, he’s always s there to make me laugh no matter what”

And you want to know anything about these kids? Just ask 16-year-old Christopher. He knows his sisters well. Elecia, he says, is the very out going one

“what about Kayla? She’s kinda the shy type...but whenever she gets to tell you something shell tell you in a way that you’d never expect a kid to tell you. What about Tina? She’s like the tomboy of the group, and she always tries to make someone laugh. And what about tiffany? She’s fun to hang around with she likes cuddling and stuff and likes to sit and watch movies.”

But these kids rarely do sit around. Chris plays High School Football. 8th Grader Elecia plays basketball. 13-year-old Kayla plays volleyball, and 11-year-old Tina and 9-year-old Tiffany are soccer players.

Chris wants to be an architect, Kayla a forensic scientist, and Tina?

“A clothes designer, she should be, when I stayed at their house she picked out a lot of my clothes for the next day.”

But right now, after everything, they just want a childhood. They just wanna be siblings. They just want to be a family, with a forever mom and dad.

“You really can’t break up a family. That’s one thing you just can’t do. It’s like taking a sucker from a baby and then the baby never stops crying. Its like taking a puppy away from its dog... it always finds its way back.”
