There are hundreds of Kansas kids dreaming of someday finding a family of their own. Eleven-year-old Barry is just one of them.

In school, Barry loves science and is a good athlete. He wrestles and plays basketball and soccer.

The sixth grader is competitive, but very shy. Spending half of his young life in foster care may have taught him to deflect attention. Barry can't remember for sure in how many different homes he's lived.
