By day, Mike Dromey works for the railroad.
At night, you can find him in his garage, behind his Hawk scroll saw, cutting out a new wooden creation.
"I just enjoy the woodworking," he says. "It's nice to know you can take a board and make anything out of it. You get ot see peoples' reaction when you make something for them. You know that every piece is different."
Mike is a whiz at the saw and can make just about anything.
Mike uses recycled wood to make his unique hand crafted gifts. Wood that's made right here in the U.S.
"All the woods that I use and produce right here in my shop are U.S.-grown and harvested hardwoods," Dromey says. "I prefer not to use hardwoods that would be considered exotic."
You can find Mike's gifts at Boutique 1631 in downtown Augusta, or at his Facebook page: The Hardwood Tree. There, you can see pictures and also put in an order with Mike.
