if you're looking for some Christmas decorations that are a little different, and fitting for a Kansan, how about some that are woven out of wheat?
Marian Vavar, Family Hand Crafts, makes beautiful creations out of the state's staple crop.
"This is definitely a statement for Kansas," she said. "A lot of my customers love the Christmas ornaments that I do."
Vavar only works with the best Kansas wheat. It's a hobby she began in 1985.
"I decided this year to frame a number of my pieces," she said. "I was really pleased on how that turned out. It's a beautiful presentation."
Her work is available for sale at the Courtyard Gallery in Lindsborg.
