Wichita Police have made an arrest in the murder of a young woman late Thursday night in northeast Wichita.

Officers arrested a woman for the alleged murder of another woman at the Shadybrook Senior Apartments, located near 21st and Oliver.

The women were neighbors at the apartment building. According to police, the two had argued over the past two weeks and the suspect had threatened the victim.

Last night the 53-year-old suspect went to the 22-year-old victim's apartment and allegedly attacked her, stabbing her multiple times.

The victim managed to push a panic button in the apartment, which alerted apartment staff in the lobby. Employees entered her apartment and found her, then called 911.

She was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

Police soon after arrested the suspect, and she has since been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail for first degree murder.

The victim's identity has not yet been released.
