WICHITA, Kan. — A woman and her teenage son were robbed yesterday while trying to buy a cell phone in southeast Wichita.
It happened just after 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 900 block of South Governeour.
According to police, a 34-year-old woman was going to buy her 16-year-old son a phone that she had found listed online. When she and her son arrived at the meeting place, two suspects reportedly pushed them down and stole their cash. No one was hurt.
Police are looking for a black male, approximately six-feet and six-feet, three-inches tall wearing all black clothing. The other suspect was a black female, about five-feet, six-inches tall with no hair. She was wearing black clothing and white tennis shoes.
Police are reminding residents taking part in these types of transactions to meet in a public place.
